Childhope Asia Philippines (CHAP) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that was officially created in 1995. CHAP's principal purpose is to advocate the cause of street children in the Philippines. Its goals are to reach out to the children living on the streets, protect, educate, motivate, and counsel them to decide to leave the streets. CHAP was originally established in 1989 as the Childhope Asian Regional Office. The concept of Childhope was formed in 1986 when professionals from international children's agencies saw the need fof an international effort to address the rights of street children.

CHAP provides the following services to street children:

  1. provision of opportunities for alternative education in areas of value clarification, spiritual formation, primary health care, life skills, drug abuse prevention, and personal safety against sexual abuse,
  2. provision of health services,
  3. provision of legal protection and assistance, and
  4. development of leadership and organizational skills . The training program develops Junior Health Workers, Junior Educators, and Junior Advocates.
